These items are ideal for those who have a have a prescription from an Herbal Medicine Practioner, traditional Medicine Practioners and Herbal medicine hobbyists as well as those interested in making their own cosmetics and soaps.

• Medicinal herbal Tinctures- material from a plant is steeped in a solution of alcohol for a long period. The bulk material is then filtered off. The resulting tincture contains the active principle chemicals that give the plant its medical properties. The tincture is highly stable and preserved by the alcohol.

• Medical fluid extracts- A special kind of tincture whereby one millimetre of solution is equal to one gram of powdered herb.

• Cut Herbs- material from a plant being either from the leaf, flower head, stem or root, cut in to small pieces for use mainly in medicinal herbal teas and decoctions, or used in the preparation of herbal medicine after further processing.

• Whole Herbs- material from a plant being either from the leaf, flower head, stem or root, presented in whole pieces. For example whole marigold flower heads, for use mainly in medicinal herbal teas and decoctions, or used in the preparation of herbal medicine after further processing, also ideal for decorating home made preparations.

• Essential oils- The entire volatile oily principle chemicals from a plant. Usually they give the plant its characteristic odour and flavour. Used by Aromatherapist and naturopaths for there medical and healing properties, for example tea tree and lavender oil.

• Fixed Oil- material from a plant is steeped in a base carrier oil for a long period. The bulk material is then filtered off. The resulting oil contains the active principle chemicals that give the plant its medical properties. The oil can be used on its own as a rub or in poultice preparation or it can be used as carrier oil and be medicated with various essential oil. For example, Arnica Oil and Hypericum Oil.

• Natural waxes and resins- this is hard oily material found from nature not just plants. Examples include beeswax, coconut oil and tree resins.

• Herbal pessaries- Medicinal pessaries for vaginal insertion, containing natural herbal ingredients and essential oils.

We also stock ingredients that will help you make your own cosmetics, creams, body lotion, shampoos and soaps. This includes packing materials such as bottles and jars.
