Pharma Nord Bio-Magnesium the queen of nutrients

Even though not many of us seem to pay much attention to magnesium, it is a vitally important mineral to the body. Most food items contain magnesium, especially whole grain products, leguminous fruits, nuts and green vegetables. Analysis shows that we get less magnesium than we actually need from our daily diet.

Magnesium is the most prevalent mineral in our cells. It helps control a vast number of chemical reactions in our metabolism. All chemical reactions are controlled by enzymes, and most enzymes work together with minerals, magnesium being one of them. Magnesium is an integrated part of more than 300 enzyme reactions in our body.

Pharma Nord Bio-Magnesium is very important for ATPase, an enzyme that enables cells to utilize an energy substance called adenosine triphosphate, ATP, for their different functions. Some of the more important functions are muscle activity and transportation of nutrients and other substances through the cell membrane. ATP is also used to regenerate new cells and tissue. The heart contains extremely large quantities of magnesium, where it helps maintain the electric voltage across the membranes of the nerve and muscle cells, which is the basis of their functioning. Without magnesium our heart, muscles and nerves lose strength.

Dieting may lead to magnesium deficiency. Magnesium is needed for proper control of the body weight because it plays an active role in the metabolism.

Magnesium supplements may occur in several chemical forms. Bio-Magnesium made by Pharma Nord contains three forms: acetate, hydroxide and carbonate which give greater bioactivity and therefore, benefit to the body.

Pharma Nord Bio-magnesium is generally well tolerated when taken at the recommended amounts, occasionally causing gastrointestinal disturbance in susceptible individuals. The risk of overdose is low as the kidneys excrete any excess, however, people with renal disease should exercise caution if taking magnesium supplements.
